A More Perfect World
By Tony Green
Wednesday 11th - Saturday 14th April | 7:30pm
Taken from real experiences of First World War veterans, “A More Perfect World”, by Tony Green, takes place in three different time zones - 2018, 1978 and during the years of the war. It is actually three plays in one – three characters with three distinct stories and experiences.
In 1978 three people are drawn together to be interviewed for a documentary on the realities of their experiences during the conflict. A soldier, an officer, and a nursing volunteer all discuss their memories and the events they witnessed. Together they use the platform to push against the culture that is telling them how to feel about their experiences…a culture that is in the process of building the myth around them.
40 years later, their recollections are finally to be broadcast – the myth now written.
